davidsview > 2008.12.25... Why we celebrate Christmas.

I went out and about yesterday, Christmas Eve, looking for the perfect Nativity. I photographed many, but this one, outside the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spanaway, WA, struck me. It's simplicity. It's colors. It's meaning.

This, in my mind, the birth of Jesus, is the reason we celebrate Christmas. There are many translations, but for me, as a Christian, this is mine.

Merry Christmas everyone. May your day be filled with joy and happiness. May your day be framed in your own translation of this Celebration. May you be with friends and family, if only in memory. May we all thank and Bless our troops in far away places and wish them safety as the defend our freedom and fight to prepare others for thiers.

Down one of the back roads near my house. Losing light quickly, and no traffic front or rear, I took this shot of the road vanishing in the distance, trees covered and getting heavy with the snow in what has become a real winter wonderland in the county.

Boosted saturation, resized, and bordered in PS CS3.

Another in the Lava Rock Nursary series. The texture of the door knob and crackled paint caught my attention. Applied a little contrast, and sepia in PS 7.

From my backyard. Light changing by the minute, finally able to catch these colors in the clouds. PS7 used to attain 16:9 Widescreen aspect.
